Health Overview

This directory was created by members of the Spencer-Van Etten communities.  The purpose is to provide information to residents about health care resources in and around the community. 

If people are still unable to find the health resources needed they are encouraged to contact their Health Departments.

I would like to thank all of the wonderful residents of Spencer and Van Etten who contributed to this pamphlet. As a graduate nursing student from Binghamton University, I participated in the 2008-09 Tioga County Health Assessment and was assigned the Spencer community, and chose to include the Van Etten community. The project started in September 2008 and ended in May 2009. During this time I spent a lot of time getting to know the communities, understanding their strengths and needs. One identified need was increasing communication about health related resources in and around the community. The decision to compile information about available health resources was embraced by many community residents who supported me in both gathering the information and communicating it throughout the community. I hope this information will be useful in supporting the health of the residents of Spencer and Van Etten.
